Château du Seuil is a family owned wine property that takes personal responsibility for all aspects of grape growing and wine quality control. They own all of their vineyards and do not buy grapes in. The issue of ‘provenance’ from the vineyards right through to the finished wines is critical to us. The Château du Seuil wines are first class, well reviewed in the press, and have all received international tasting awards.
The Château du Seuil philosophy over the last 8 years has been to use less and less chemical treatments in the vineyard. Chateau du Seuil is now registered as being under conversion to full organic status. This involves a far more intensive management of the vineyard as conditions in the Gironde are often humid and this means that a fully organic program is very challenging. Château du Seuil is well established, with a successful track record of working with a wide range of top hotels and fine dining restaurants around the world. They believe the future rests in cleaner viticulture with small family owned estates leading the way to more careful and dedicated management of the vineyard.
Carole Sabit will be our host for the evening at Château du Seuil. Carole has always worked in the wine industry and prior to her arrival at Château du Seuil in 1999 was in the wine trading, with a wine broker and another winegrower. She has a genuine love of wine and has obtained WSET Level 3 in English, as well as assessing the wines each year at Qualibordeaux and in some wine competition including Concours des vins de Bordeaux.

This groundbreaking wine technology offered consumers the freedom to drink any wine, in any amount, without feeling the need to finish the entire bottle. Before founding Coravin, Lambrecht’s career focused on patenting medical technologies, including needles designed for chemotherapy.
