Start Father’s Day weekend with a tour of Burgundy along the Route des Grands Crus, in this private event for FACC members!
Grab your glasses and join Cedar Stoltenow and the team of Château de Pommard on a virtual journey along the world-famous wine road, the “Route des Grand Crus”. During these challenging times, it’s difficult to travel, so let’s explore Burgundy together with a curated selection of newly released wines from the 2018 vintage. Learn how Burgundy’s star grape varieties, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, express themselves across the region’s rich maze of villages and terroirs. Pick up some of our suggested cheese and charcuterie pairing options for the full tasting experience, right in your home.
To taste along from home, order your three-bottle La Route des Grand Crus Tasting Trio or the full La Route des Grands Crus Collection. You’ll also receive a selection of pairing recipes specially developed for these wines by private chef and sommelier Jordan Lynn Traylor.
What will I learn?
Founded in 1726 by Vivant Micault, secretary to King Louis XV, Château de Pommard remains one of the most iconic and visited wine estates in Burgundy. Clos Marey-Monge, at the heart of the domain, has been producing one of the greatest expressions of Pinot Noir for more than two millennia. The 20-hectare clay- and limestone-rich terroir makes it the largest and most interesting monopole vineyard in the Côte d’Or. In July 2015, UNESCO declared the Clos a world heritage protected climat of Burgundy. The Carabello-Baum family of San Francisco purchased the domain in 2014 and became just the fifth family to guide the estate in almost 300 years. The family has transformed the estate into the ultimate wine education destination where anyone can experience the phenomenon that is Burgundy.
