SUMMARY:FACC Atlanta: Immigration & Travel Ban: Time out!
DESCRIPTION:The Latest updates on immigration and travel ban to the EU and Schengen countries! \nIn response to numerous questions that our members asked us these last days\, and due to the high level of uncertainty concerning not only the last proclamation but also regular immigration and consular processes\, we will host a webinar followed by a Q&A Session on \nMonday\, June 29\, from 2 to 3pm\, \nOur Guest Speakers will be discussing the following topics: \nPART 1: The last Presidential Proclamation and its consequences on your immigration status \nOn June 22\, 2020\, Donald Trump issued a new Proclamation suspending entry of “aliens who present a risk to the U.S. labor market following the Coronavirus outbreak”. This proclamation is not only poorly drafted but also places uncertainty on the status of many immigrants and companies. President Trump justified that proclamation arguing that “American workers compete against foreign nationals for jobs in every sector of our economy\,” and that amid the economic troubles created by the pandemic\, work visas including the H-1B “pose an unusual threat to the employment of American workers.” This is not the first time that this administration is trying to negatively impact the immigration process of foreign workers. However\, this last proclamation has already had devastating consequences for international companies\, which are now starting to get into uncharted waters. \nPART 2: The last updates to enter any country of the Schengen Area: what to expect this summer?  \nU.S. citizens are not required to obtain a Schengen visa in order to enter any member country of the Schengen Area for tourism or business purposes. However\, the travel restrictions imposed worldwide because of the Coronavirus pandemic already affected the entry of many U.S. citizens in Europe. What are the last updates for this summer for U.S. residents? The presentation will be followed by a Q&A session. Please email your questions in advance at julie@facc-atlanta.com. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAs a courtesy\, this program is free for all but registration is required.\n\n\n\n\n\n\nExamples  of questions to be covered during this webinar\n\n\nI am currently under a L1 visa\, but temporarily in France for vacation with a valid visa already issued by the Consulate. Does the Proclamation apply to me?\nI am currently in the U.S with a J-1 visa but planning to visit France for three weeks in July. Will I be able to return?\nI plan to sponsor one employee through the EB2 process. Is the process currently suspended?\nI am currently under a L1 visa but I need an extension since the current L1 expires in three weeks. Would I be able to renew the extension from France?\nI am outside the US but already hold a valid H1B. Will I be impacted?\nCan I still apply for a O-visa?\n\n\n\n\n\n\nMeet our Speakers\n\n \nH. Glenn Fogle\, JR \nH. Glenn Fogle\, Jr.\, the founding member and principal of The Fogle Law Firm\, LLC\, is in his twenty-ninth year of practice in the field of Immigration and Nationality Law. Mr. Fogle is an expert immigration law litigator and handles immigration court cases on a national level. He recently took a case to the U.S. Supreme Court — Barton v. Barr\, No. 18-725 — which was argued on November 4\, 2019. Mr. Fogle represents individual foreign nationals seeking permanent residence\, temporary status\, and U.S. citizenship. He also assists professionals\, corporations\, and investors entering the United States. \nGlenn Fogle was awarded his Juris Doctorate degree from The College of Law at Georgia State University in Atlanta\, Georgia on June 16\, 1991. He is a member of the bars of the U.S. Supreme Court and the U.S. Courts of Appeals of the Second Circuit\, Fourth Circuit\, Fifth Circuit\, Sixth Circuit\, Ninth Circuit and the Eleventh Circuit. He is a longtime member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA)\, has spoken at numerous AILA conferences and seminars\, and has served as an AILA Mentor for nearly 20 years. Chambers and Partners\, the prestigious British legal research firm\, and U.S. News and World Reports Best Lawyers have ranked Mr. Fogle among the top immigration lawyers in Georgia for the past thirteen years and twelve years respectively. \n \nDavid Lunel \nDavid L. Lunel is an associate attorney with the Fogle Law Firm. David Lunel is both an attorney in France where he is admitted to the Paris Court of Appeals\, and in the United States where he is a member of the State Bar of Georgia. He focuses on providing effective immigration solutions for companies in the Southeast and throughout the United States. He assists professionals\, corporations\, small businesses\, and investors entering the United States. His clients are leaders in fields such as software\, manufacturing\, design\, fashion\, sports\, international trade\, and engineering. During these challenging times\, it’s difficult to travel\, so let’s explore Burgundy together with a curated selection of newly released wines from the 2018 vintage. Clos Marey-Monge\, at the heart of the domain\, has been producing one of the greatest expressions of Pinot Noir for more than two millennia. The 20-hectare clay- and limestone-rich terroir makes it the largest and most interesting monopole vineyard in the Côte d’Or. In July 2015\, UNESCO declared the Clos a world heritage protected climat of Burgundy. The Carabello-Baum family of San Francisco purchased the domain in 2014 and became just the fifth family to guide the estate in almost 300 years. The family has transformed the estate into the ultimate wine education destination where anyone can experience the phenomenon that is Burgundy. \n  \n  \nREGISTER NOW

SUMMARY:FACC-ATL Webinar: Women's Series - Strategies to reevaluate and reimagine your future
DESCRIPTION:“Now\, it’s time for you to design your life\, build a career to fund it\, and a network to support it…let’s connect!”\, Darrah Brustein \n“Start defining your own success and living on your terms\, not other people’s. \nIt starts with uncovering what you want\, then building the right relationships to support your vision\, all the while creating the financial freedom you need to choose how you spend your time.”\, Darrah Brustein. \nIt’s time to turn off your cell phone and join us on zoom for a virtual discussion with Darrah Brustein\, moderated by Claire Angelle. Darrah will help you get unstuck and live a fuller\, more meaningful life\, on your terms. \nThis presentation will be followed by a Q&A session. \nThe Women’s Series is a collaboration between the German\, French\, Belgian\, Swedish and Netherlands American Chambers of Commerce as well as the British-American Business Council and the Japan-America Society of Georgia. We host educational & networking events with the goal of bringing together women in the Atlanta international community. \nMeet our Speakers: \nDarrah Brustein\, Guest Speaker \nDarrah is a 4x founder\, author\, and coach who used to cringe at the word ‘coaching’. But she called to do this and begged by her first clients to work with them. When they saw massive and transformational results in their lives and businesses\, she stopped resisting and continued to serve. After spending 10 years over-working and burning out while building a credit card processing company into 38 states and a networking events company for over 30\,000 people\, she learned the wrong way to do it\, and then discovered that there was a better way.  Click here for the full bio. \n  \nClaire Angelle\, Moderator \nClaire Angelle has over 12 years of experience in international affairs\, economic development\, government relations and communications in North America\, Europe and South America.Prior to  starting her own venture\, Claire was Executive Director of Worth Cities – The Worth Group where she was in charge of providing comprehensive strategy\,  content/marketing services and programs for cities across the United States suffering from a perceived recognition deficit. SUMMARY:FACC-WDC: Online Happy Hour with The Lafayette Escadrille
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a dramatic and entertaining webinar featuring dashing WWI aviators and lion cubs—and learn how to make their signature cocktail! \nThe Lafayette Escadrille is a brand new documentary feature film by FACC Members Paul Glenshaw and Darroch Greer. It is one of the great stories of the French-American alliance\, telling the story of the American volunteers who flew for France before the US entered WWI. They were known as The Lafayette Escadrille\, and became the founding squadron of American combat aviation. \nBefore the film is released later this year\, the filmmakers are pleased to share a 20-minute version of the film\, made for the US WWI Centennial Commission. \nPlease enjoy the film on YouTube\, and then join the filmmakers on April 23 at 5pm for behind-the-scenes glimpses into their four year production\, in which they filmed over 40 locations in France\, and worked closely with the French and American families of the pilots\, finding troves of never-before-seen materials. \nThe filmmakers will take questions and share how the famous “Lafayette Cocktail” was made for them at Harry’s New York Bar in Paris. \nFor more information about the film find them online at www.thelafayetteescadrille.org and on Facebook @thelafayetteescadrille. \n  \nREGISTER NOW
