SUMMARY:FACC-NY: EQ Across Borders
DESCRIPTION:This event is geared towards FACC NY Young Executive Members & Exchange Visitors \nWhat are the keys to succeeding globally? The answer is simple: emotional intelligence and cultural intelligence.\nBecoming more aware of other cultures is key to enhancing diversity and inclusion in the workplace.\nYou can naturally “read” another person’s emotions when you share the same culture and background. But\, the expressions and the meaning of emotions vary from one culture to another.\nDuring this virtual workshop\, we will expound on the below questions as we work together on emotional self-awareness and cultural & social awareness: \n– Why do we need emotional intelligence as well as cultural intelligence? \n– How do I get it right when communicating across cultures? \n– How do I learn the language of emotions no matter the culture I’m working in? \n REGISTER NOW \nMEET THE SPEAKER \n\n \n  \nMuriel Omur Ilbas is a Turkish-French executive and intercultural coach\, as well as a corporate trainer. Serving as a former French TV producer\, director\, and anchorwoman\, Muriel has become an expert communication strategist and a personal and professional image expert. Throughout her career\, she has worked for renowned global companies like PepsiCo\, Coca-Cola\, L’Oréal\, Louis Vuitton\, HSBC\, British American Tobacco\, McKinsey\, Deloitte to name a few. \n

SUMMARY:FACC Atlanta: Immigration & Travel Ban: Time out!
DESCRIPTION:The Latest updates on immigration and travel ban to the EU and Schengen countries! \nIn response to numerous questions that our members asked us these last days\, and due to the high level of uncertainty concerning not only the last proclamation but also regular immigration and consular processes\, we will host a webinar followed by a Q&A Session on \nMonday\, June 29\, from 2 to 3pm\, \nOur Guest Speakers will be discussing the following topics: \nPART 1: The last Presidential Proclamation and its consequences on your immigration status \nOn June 22\, 2020\, Donald Trump issued a new Proclamation suspending entry of “aliens who present a risk to the U.S. labor market following the Coronavirus outbreak”. This proclamation is not only poorly drafted but also places uncertainty on the status of many immigrants and companies. President Trump justified that proclamation arguing that “American workers compete against foreign nationals for jobs in every sector of our economy\,” and that amid the economic troubles created by the pandemic\, work visas including the H-1B “pose an unusual threat to the employment of American workers.” This is not the first time that this administration is trying to negatively impact the immigration process of foreign workers. However\, this last proclamation has already had devastating consequences for international companies\, which are now starting to get into uncharted waters. \nPART 2: The last updates to enter any country of the Schengen Area: what to expect this summer?  \nU.S. citizens are not required to obtain a Schengen visa in order to enter any member country of the Schengen Area for tourism or business purposes. However\, the travel restrictions imposed worldwide because of the Coronavirus pandemic already affected the entry of many U.S. citizens in Europe. What are the last updates for this summer for U.S. residents? The presentation will be followed by a Q&A session. Please email your questions in advance at julie@facc-atlanta.com. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAs a courtesy\, this program is free for all but registration is required.\n\n\n\n\n\n\nExamples  of questions to be covered during this webinar\n\n\nI am currently under a L1 visa\, but temporarily in France for vacation with a valid visa already issued by the Consulate. Does the Proclamation apply to me?\nI am currently in the U.S with a J-1 visa but planning to visit France for three weeks in July. Will I be able to return?\nI plan to sponsor one employee through the EB2 process. Is the process currently suspended?\nI am currently under a L1 visa but I need an extension since the current L1 expires in three weeks. Would I be able to renew the extension from France?\nI am outside the US but already hold a valid H1B. Will I be impacted?\nCan I still apply for a O-visa?\n\n\n\n\n\n\nMeet our Speakers\n\n \nH.
